Would the Star Trek world ever work?

if we were in space, land would be the new greed.
And that's what the majority of the wars in Star Trek are about.

Lets just slice off a part of the US and run the Star Trek experience.

But that is the problem with actual Communism. You can shoot for the stars and try to create a paradise. But someone must allocate resources, make tough decisions, etc. and ultimately you have the "absolute power corrupts absolutely" axiom staring you in the face.

man did not evolve from a hive, or a herd, and I don't think we will ever become selfless enough for that type of utopia to be created.

If a Star Trek world affords me an opportunity to bang Deanna Troi or Seven of Nine, I'm all for it.

So how is not having any money in society, the same as communism? You lost me..

Hey, that also means there are no settlements.. just prison time and community service.. That would be nice.. That would actually force people to do something good.
