we know who faceman is so that wasn't funny
not that it would be funny either way.
That's a long way to go to say I'm not funny.
he's still right.
But I get points for making you think your opinion couts, right?
not really since I know it does.
You probably think Giambi redeemed himself today too, right?
why, did he quit the Yankees?
Unfortunatley, no.
He just held a press conference to say he couldn't answer their questions due to potential legal ramifications.
I just read the article - he apoliged, but he couldn't say what he was really apologizing for.

I really wish he would admit it & take the cut like a real man.
Dan Patrick ripped him a new one today on hsi radio show.
He made the same point you just did in that if Giambi wanted to put this behind him and start spring training with a clean slate, that he'd have to come completely clean about his personal steroid use, apologize and say he wasn't answering any more questions.

If he wasn't going to do all of this... The press conference was pointless and did MORE damage, potentially.
i demand that we finally get a mod to get off his ass and move this to sports.

well I think one of the reasons he's not being direct is that if he directly admits steroid usage, the Yankees can easily can his ass & not give him anymore $$ that's left on his contract - plus, no other team would probably take him. He's essentially be ending his career which, IMO, is already over.
His career isn't necessarily over. If he comes out and has a real strong April he might redeem himself. It's usually the case in any sports city if you put up good numbers people tend to ignore your off the court/field problems. In Giambi's case he should be ok with a strong April and May.

I don't think that's the case. I mean, look at Gary Sheffield.
He came out and admitted steroid use saying he "unknowingly" took them. Yeah right.

But in any case, if they were going to take action, that would be their chance.

You may have a point though, in that the difference between Sheffield admitting it and Giambi dancing around the issue is that Sheffield produced last year and Giambi didn't.
Common sense tells us the Yankees and any other organization are more interested in getting results over being consistent.
