Alright.. this is starting to piss me off. Every time i try to save a pic in windows xp on IE, no matter what file type it is .jpg, .gif, etc it always tries to save as bmp. What the fuck?!!! how do i change it back? It just started doing this... I didn't click any options to specify otherwise... anyone know what is wrong?

This is so irritating.
This is so <s>irritating</s> hilarious.

You mean besides the fact that you have @#$ in your name?

If it's xp, thats new to me. I have used it for almost two months and I can right click and save a pic with no problem at all.

This problem is posing a serious problem to my porn surfing habits.

IM me and i'll try to assist.
I used to have a similar problem... When I tried to save a picture it would save as a fucking win-amp file. I know, its no help. just trying to ease the pain man.
when you right click and save, it'll ask you where you want to save. there will be 2 drop down menus: 1 for the name and the 2nd for what type of file. .jpg will be selectable in that drop down.

i hope that helps you.

hekp me! hekp me! :crackhead:
Lzmf... as stupid as I am, I Thought of that. other File types were not an option, just bmp.... anyway... it somehow fixed itself after I deleted cookies and history. This was after reinstalling IE, rebooting, shutting down, kicking it a little bit.

I'm back to normal after I deleted cookies and history... fucking weird. Anyway, thanks for all the hepk.

Could it be a virus?

I don't know what it was, Nortons never picked up anything...But I know I wont ever get win amp again.
I have been having this same trouble on my other PC, but, the OS is not XP, it's 98SE.
onehung.... you probably have a bad file association set. What OS do you use? I can try to help you set it properly.... are you sure that file types list points to an application that can read pics like IE or compupic or something? or is it winamp? The winamp association might have been set after selecting the wrong program from the 'open with' dialog box.... (the thing that pops up when windows doesn't know what a particular file type is.) Also... Winamp has it's own file association list.. I couldn't imagine that a picture would be a file type in there, but it's possible.

IM me tonight if you want and I can try to help you. Chris052076 on AIM.

Winamp is great... it's a shame that you don't use it.

Used to.... It was on my old computer with win 98. And I had all the file associations set right. removed em, then tried opening them with paint shop,,,Allways came up as win amp.

I have no use for win amp anymore anyways, I only used it to listen to O & A. Thanks for the offer though Cluster.

And Luna, The only way I got it fixxed was when I formatted.
