I started driving when I was fifteen. I learned on an automatic, but learned to drive stick at sixteen.

A few years back I drove 3/4 of the way back to Jersey from Kentucky. I guess that's the furthest I've driven in one stretch.

How old were you when you learned?

Can you drive stick?

What's the biggest thing you've ever driven? How about the fastest?

I've driven 'vettes, a Lotus Esprit, and I used to have a street bike. I've also driven 20 ft box trucks before.

I've always loved driving, except that it can be very frustrating in this area.
I was 18, I don't think I ever fully learned how to drive, since I've been in 2 bad accidents. I don't know how to drive stick, the fastest I have driven was 110 mph, that was the max on the car. I've never been further than jersey.

My first car was a buick, then another buick a lesabre. Last one was an Eagle Vision, My favorite ride was the Chrysler Sebring convertable.

got my liscense last august. i've driven a mini van, a mazda millenia, a ford explorer, and my mustang. farthest i've driven in one stretch... probably from my house to wildwood prom weekend.
started driving a few months ago, biggest thing is an oldsmobile, cant drive a stick, hit 70, cant drive out of the state yet
i got my license last april. the furthest i drove was coming home from cleveland. i actually almost fell asleep and got me and my dad killed, but luckily [for all of you :-p] i woke up in time.
i blame it on the doors cd my dad was playing, it couldn't possibly be my own fault. he didn't realize what happened because he was asleep too, and woke up after i swerved back on to the road and was like 'what was that'.
true story
I got my license when I was 16. Got my first car when I was 18. 2 weeks after getting my own car I drove from Grand Rapids, MI to just north of Chicago, IL to go to Six Flags.

Biggest thing I have ever driven is the largest UHaul truck.
Hybrid hit on something else... what kind of cars have you owned?

I've had...

Chevy Spectrum
Ford Escort EXP
Chevy Cavalier
Lincoln Continental Town Coupe
Chevy Impala
Chevy S-10
Ford Escort Station Wagon
Toyota Camry
Honda Civic
Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
Cadillac Brougham
Susuki Samurai
Acura Integra
Ford Escape
Saturn SC2

I guess I've had a lot of cars in the last 15 years, and I didn't even count the cars I would drive when I was living WI with my used car dealer 'father'. I had a different car every week back then.

All of who?
:-(
oh shit. i almost forgot about the 1970 buick lesabre custom (BIGGEST CAR EVER) that i drove and hit my friend with for a school project. good times. christ this thing was a boat.
emoticon abusers!!!!! back to back emotiocon replies, you bastards. I should have k1d run you over with his 74 lincoln!!!!
i am 36 and have never had a license
driving is the one thing that i love to do the most. im a great driver(....yeah yeah save the "but women can't drive" shit, cause it isn't true...well about me atleast) first time i ever drove a car i was about 15, and my sister let me drive her car around the garden state plaza mall parking lot, that only lasted about 2 minutes, cause my sister is a nervous nilly. i officially learned to drive when i got my permit at 16, and got to drive with my lovely driving instructor named Al. my second day of driving he made me drive on rt. 17 during rush hour heading south towards rutherford and such. till this day i think he is a lunatic for making me do that. but alas i survived and that made me conquer my fear of driving on highways. i can't drive stick...but i would like to learn.
i have driven a bunch of cars, smallest being an eclipse and the biggest driving a Uhaul full of beer to my sororities shore house when i was 17. my first car was a my sisters old one which i bought from her for $200.00. it was an 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, fucking thing was almost as old as i am. looked like a piece of shit, had tons of little things wrong with it...but i sure do miss that beast. once you got her going on highways i could get her up to about 85 before she started shaking. and she had the most comfortable back-seat that i, or anyone else who sat back there, has ever sat in. i never though i would ever miss my hooptie-grrl, but i do.
i hate driving

i passed my road test at 16 - i learned to drive on a tiny ford probe cause i had a broken leg in drivers ed & wasn't able to drive at the time of the class. my license turned to a senior license on my 17th birthday where i was blessed with an 83 el dorado.

i dumped the el dorado at the end of my senior year in high school for my dad's 93 olds cutlass supreme convertible white with a black top & black leather interior. that car was so pretty.

that car died a year later so i moved onto my dads 89 benz until i got my 98 durango which i still have. it's black, with dark grey leather interior. no badges & grill & bumper gaurds. i love it.

the bigggest thing i ever drove was my cousins tahoe. also towncars suck ass to drive.

the fastest was my dads 77 stingray with a 454 big block - very nerve racking.

all i want for christmas is a blue 70 chevelle with a white convertible top & a white stripe down the center.

I learned how to drive at 16. My father would have me drive around the empty parking lot of the mall because he was nervous to let me drive in real traffic.

I've had...

1980 Chevy Malibu
1977 Ford Thunderbird
1980 Ford Thunderbird
1987 Pontiac 6000LE
1993 Chevy Beretta GTZ
1998 Chevy Cavalier
2001 Dodge Stratus
2002 Ford Taurus

My biggest and most powerful car was my 77 T-Bird when I was 19. Two weeks after having a brand new motor put in it (after I blew out the first one), I totalled the car when I fell asleep at the wheel after a night of drinking.

I've driven stick, but I'm a lazy fuck, so I prefer automatic.

I drove from New York to Michigan once, that was my longest trip.
I started driving well before I was 16. I had the kind of dad that would let us sit on his lap and steer and then graduate on to driving by ourselves. I learned how to drive a stick on a '56 Chevy which was a ton of fun to drive!
My first car was 1973 Chevy Nova that was passed down from my mom. Then I bought a truck right after high school (I blew up the engine in the Nova). My dad still is driving my truck...

What I've owned so far:

1973 Chevy Nova
1989 Ford Ranger
1991 Jeep Wrangler, shiny red with a soft top (god, I love that car and miss it so...)
1998 Ford Tauras
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
2002 Chevy Impala

I've driven a ton of other cars. I love to drive and always insist on driving wherever we go. Unfortunately, I have a terrible time with car sickness and driving really helps with that.

That just explained so much to me, kindred.
I learned to drive at the age of 12. Took my fathers car for a joyride at the age of 14. Got my license at 16.

I have driven in total about 100 different vehicles ranging from a 89 Lancer to a 2002 peterbilt tractor with 53' trailer. Have CDL Class A with all endorsments also have motorcycle license.

Fastest I drove was 170 at Pococno Motor Speedway. Fastest in my personal car was coming back from A.C. Avg time to my house from A.C. is about 2 1/2 hours made it in 1 3/4 hours. 119 MPH at some points.

Well, yeah. The anal raping was just part of the afternoon drives with dad. Ever drive a 1968 VW Hippie Bus with your dad's hot poker up your ass?? Pure ecstasy, man... :moonie:
I've been driving since I was 15
Cars I've had:
'80 Honda Accord
'83 Olds
'85 Buick
'90 Tempo
'94 Sundance
'96 Beretta (I should have never traded it in)
'98 Malibu

I've driven from Northwest Ohio to Staten Island...
