Blame the educational system as well...in school we used to have map tests where we'd get a blank map and we'd have to label the states/countries.
i remember when i had to draw the united states and label each one of the states. OAS only had to do 13 :rofl:
I had to do that, and I was 55/55.....YEAH!
I always hated geography.

i'm amazed at how stupid people can be...everybody i know can do at least most of this, yet the numbers are staggeringly low. why do they only survey stupid people?
The schools/teachers are definitely responsible (see related calculator thread). They're not teaching the important things. But parents also have a responsibility to see that kids are learning what's important.
That being said, don't ask me to label the 50 states...I've forgotten them.

Unfortunately, the standards are being lowered to meet the level of the kids instead of raising up the kids to meet the standards.
It's really sickening to think that public schools CAN'T leave a bunch of kids back a grade because the classes are ALL too crowded, so they promote them just so there will be enough space for all the students. Of those that make it to college, many spend Freshman Year in remedial classes learning what they should have in high school.

i convinced a girl in one of my classes that i had a piece of stalin's head on my wall.
I heard on the radio today that NJ is considering doing away with phys ed classes in school and having the kids take an additional academic class instead. So now, instead of just having stupid kids, we'll have fat, lazy, stupid kids. What a system.
