If it's 18 hours one way. How would you do that in a weekend? Drive there, hang for a few hours, drive back? Seems a bit far for the weekend.
leave early on a Friday, get to Nashville, find a hotel & a bar
screw around Saturday, come back Sunday
it's just a rough plan so far, alternately Sat-Mon
I'm a senior! I wanna cut too!
A few friends and I found out names of strange cities and are planning a trip to Horneytown, NC in March.
That's a lot of driving...
You should also go to Dollywood!

I don't see it should take 18 hrs .... I think my grandfather drove from the bottom of Alabama in 18 hrs or so
but I've never driven really far, so i'll be new & different
what is there to do in Horneytown ;-)
I don't know what there is to do there, but its right by the country's largest furniture store and also a big college town. Wanna come?! :bouncer:
how long are you going? when? ... ok :thumbs-up:
We're going for the weekend, leaving March 7th, and coming home the 9th or the 10th. We're going to take all stupid pictures, and try to find a t-shirt that says Horneytown, etc. It will be a kick ass time! :bouncer:
sounds lovely  I'll totally go
space in the trunk?
We have space in the car, you can have your own seat! :bouncer:
ooo check me out, a seat & everything
And you can even have your own bed! The hotel rooms down there are $40 for a room with two double beds, and since none of us are shagging, we all need our own bed, unless of course you wanna shack up with someone :-)
I'll see what I can do ;-)
I'd offer you my easy friend as an incentive, but we decided to leave her home as the south has enough diseases.
If you guys are in NC you should day trip it to ATL...it's only a few hours from the border...and I'll be on my spring break then...plus...I want a horneytown Tee-shirt...
Oh...and Nashville shouldn't be 18 hours from NY...cause Atl is 18 hours and it's further south...
bought my travel book today, Eccentric America
Mashed Potato Wrestling in ... some potato state
Office Olymipics in Louisianna :thumbs-up:
Was Horneytown in there? :-D
I'm allegedly going to Orlando in March to see Counting Crows, but we'll see about that one.
no, but there is a Horned Toad Derby in Coalinga, CA
what I really want to see is the Burning Man festival in Nevada.
you camp in the middle of the desert for a week, with 30,000 performance artists
you have to bring everything you will need to survive for the week
it's about leaving the world behind & .... shedding preconceptions & inhibitions
Sounds interesting. What other eccentric places are there to visit?
