So I read on CNN that they picked a design for the buildings that will go where the WTC used to be.

It's got pictures and I personally like the new design...I think it'll look good. I'm sure all the sacred ground and other such considerations are going to be taken, even thought the article didn't mention it. I also think it'll be cool to have the tallest building again...

I really haven't been following the designs but I think this one might look good...we'll have to wait and see till it's built...maybe they'll change their minds and go with the WCC idea instead...
this is old, and its a scam. they are choosing his plan because its the easiest to manipulate. the final product will barely look like his proposal. i don't care how big that giant needle is, if you're gonna build it tall, make it a building, not some lame ass needle.
am I the only one who thinks they should've just rebuilt the towers, maybe update them a little? I know all about the people's feelings about it being sacred ground, but I think putting them right back they way they were would've been the strongest statement we could make, kinda like a huge FUCK YOU to the terrorists.
I'm not sure what they should do there. I'm not wise enough, nor foolish enough to think for the true victims. But, I'll know the right design when I see it, and I ain't seen it yet.
I don't like this design, but I didn't really like any of them. The simplest is usually the best, and you can't get much simpler than the way it was.
At least they didn't pick the socialistic "world cultural towers" with that fucking garden up top
i agree with goat, rebuild the original, with some kind of unique twist or bit of style to them.
fuck it, just rebuild them to look exactly like the original but make them indestructable, or at least make it safer and easier to evacuate them.
They could rebuild them and cover them with a giant pillow to protect them.

galt is onto something. maybe have like surface to air missles on the top of the tower to take out planes.
They should make them retractable; like a missile silo.
That way in the case of danger, they would sink into the ground and be covered by bomb-proof doors.

There could be like a 1000 foot tower on top of both of the towers with a mace that hangs from them and swings around and beats the shit of out anything or anyone who tries to fuck with NYC.
