I was working as Local Crew at a Giants Stadium show (late 80's early 90's... i forget) After the show Paul did a quick walk thru shaking hands with the Local Crew before he jumped into him Limo and spead away... I didn't get to talk to him at all... just shook his hand... although, I did get to put his bass (the violin shaped one) into it's case & carry it to the truck to be loaded...

I used to DJ at a bar on the Lower East Side on NY called "King Tut's Wah Wah Hut" back in the late 80's, early 90's... at the time it was one of the "trendy" bars to hang out at (along with places like Lizmar Lounge, Scrap Bar, Spiral, Downtown Beruit...etc.) when big named bands came to town... it was after a show at MSG, that the G'n'R boys took over the Wah Wah... I only briefly said hello to everyone in the band before they all (but Izzy) went to the back of the bar, by the pool tables... Izzy actually sat at the bar with the Road Crew most of the night... at one point he actually came over & complimented me on my choice of music... (I believe it was a segway[sp] from Steve Miller to Motorhead to T-Rex) ...and of course, most all of us have met Slash at Bar 9 events...)

I actually met Henry while he was still singing in Black Flag at the Show Place (in Dover, NJ) in the early 80's ...and then a few years later, I met him again at City Garden's (in Trenton, NJ) while he was performing his very first live show with the "Rollins Band" and spoke with him for a few minutes backstage before the show... I did a short interview with him for my old Fanzine... I'll see if I can find it to post... it's very amusing...

ok... now that that's all out of the way... I'll list mine...

Alive: Johnny Cash... I briefly met him after a show at Carnigie Hall (like '91 or '92) and was able to get him to do a radio ID for the college station I used to DJ at... But, I would love to be able to sit on his front porch in an old rocking chair and ask him questions for hours... He truly is a living legend...

Dead: hmmm, tough one... a lot of good ones have already been listed, but I think I would go with either Elvis Presley or Marc Bolin from T-Rex...
