If you could create a tour with 2 bands, both playing full sets, ala Metallica/G'n'R Tour '92, what 2 bands would you choose. Try and make it current Singer/Songwriter and/or bands that still record and perform. Also, who would you have open the show, and who would you have close the show? Finally, if you like, create a setlist that each band would play, in the order you would prefer, and if they would jam together at any given point etc.. [Thanks Spit}Specific Venue or type of (Club, arena, outdoor etc..)[/Thanks Spit]

Hint: No Kyuss(Spit), No Hendrix(BJ), No Beatles(Gonzo), No Minor Threat(Sleeper), No NKOTB(Faceman), No Harry Chapin(Magus), No Flock of Seagulls(Sean), No Faith No More(crx girl), We will make Jewel an exception just for VG('cause she loves her so), and FINALLY NO ALANIS (Pollywannacracker46) --Wha? Alanis is commercially AND artistically dead, and I think that oughtta count!!!! ))

My choices would be Matthew Ryan and Todd Snider(and the Nervous Wrecks). However, I am undecided who would play first. Given the nature of the material that they both play, I am leaning towards Matthew Ryan opening and Todd Snider closing. It's too late to come up with a setlist right now, no less a particular order. Maybe tomorrow.

Dream Theater, then Rush. Very simple for me. It would be the perfect concert.

I'll give set lists tomorrow.

Oh, and "ala Metallica/G'n'R Tour '92", I'd like an opener, as Faith No More opened for them.

Primus would open. It would be so great.
Quote:No Hendrix(BJ),

damn!!!...

Ok Lets see... STP and FearFactory

FF opens, and STP Jams for like 5 hours. That would just be great!!
I think it would be great if they got Billy Joel and Elton John to play together. Two great piano players, one is a great songwriter, the other has a great songwriter. I'd pay good money to see these two together.

Oh, and i'd have the Beastie Boys open for them, including a cover of 'Big Shot' with Billy doing guest piano work.
Quote:Hint: No Kyuss(Spit)

BAH! OK, then, my dream tour (which who knows? may be a future possibility) would have a Queens of the Stone Age(headliner)/Unida tour with a monster jam of all the members at the end. :p :p :p :p I would have either Mammoth Volume, Spirit Caravan, or Dozer open up for them

Another great show would be Tom Petty/Ben Harper with maybe Matthew Ryan opening (cause he fits in well with their vibe and I'd like to see him live) in a small outside venue ...

(I'll get set lists later when I don't have as much work to do)
ooooh. I would have to say Deftones/Pantera. I'm a huge Deftones fan..and Pantera..well..enuff fuckin said [Image: smiley_hands.gif]
i don't understand the meaning of 2
:roflmao:

tori amos
fiona apple
ben folds/ben folds five
radiohead
STP
nine inch nails

acoustic sets by
counting crows
pearl jam

then ani difranco closing

*edit* and for the venue, somewhere small and outside, on a crisp, sunny fall day, and having the concert work its way in to a star filled sky night

How disappointing was that Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner album? Anyhow Ben Fold's new solo album is bomb.

i like both of those albums a lot thankyouverymuch
I agree with VG...a fall night, but I'd have Ben Folds/Dave Matthews/Bela Fleck/BB King

Sets for each group/person, then one long jam session to finish off the night....

I like the new one, in case you needed me to translate the latter part of my post. I think he's better off as a solo artist.
Rudimentary Peni would open for The Pogues.

VG, would you like me to burn you a copy of my Keyser's Wiggerisms CD?

The cd includes, 'when keyser says, "Phat," he isn't talking about Spit's ass.'
Hmm...perfect show....

Sigur Ros opening for Radiohead. Yeah yeah I know that they did that lineup on their last tour, but I DIDNT GET TO FUCKING SEE THEM. damn motherfucking dog shit.

Clutch/Husker Du would be a great show too, but Husker Du isn't around any longer.

Clutch/Melvins would also be a kick ass show.

Fugazi/Nine Inch Nails. That would be an interesting pair I think.

actually 'bomb' is more or less a bastardization of the more wiggerly 'da bomb', 'bomb' has been adopted by the 'emo' community as of late.

knowwhatimsayin?

EDIT: I wouldn't refer to Spit's ass as "phat", but rather I would say she's got a "greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat ass, and you've got your head waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up it!"

YOU are calling her ass 'greeeeat' and I have MY head up it?

Shouldn't you be hitting on vg with your 3rd grade playground routine 'bout now?
Yes, I should actually! Where is my peach?
