yeah, my christmas tree but its outside on the curb and it's pretty chilly out there...maybe tomorrow.
Saving the earth is more about saving ourselves than anything else, we will make the planet uninhabitable for humans to live in long before we destroy it beyond the point it can regenerate itself.
This planet has survived nuclear accidents, massive nuclear bomb testing, numerous oil spills, unchecked industrialization for about 50 years around the turn of the 1900s, and still there have been no long-term effects to the planet. Exxon Valdez was billed as some epic disaster; about two years later it was like it never happened.

The planet is resiliant, and dwarfs anything people can do. If we tried we couldn't make this place uninhabitable.

I agree with you on the resilience of the planet, but we definitely have the capability of making this place a barren rock - we've got enough nukes to now only kill everything, but to radiate the planet to the point of killing it. It sounds very armageddonish, but it's true.
the simple attitude of us trying to "save" the planet best shows our arrogance as humans, this rock survived for 6 billion years before us but we did a pretty good job fucking it up in a few thousand.
I don't buy into all that. How have we fucked it up exactly? Were things so much better before when the life expectancy was 30? Sure with the good comes some bad. A little bit of pollution, a couple eye sores here and there, the duck billed platypus is no more...boo hoo. The media sells fear to the public and tries to heighten our concerns about things that COULD be. Whether you think this is some form of governmental control (which I think is bullshit....they are not that clever) or some secret power controlling us blah blah blah is irrelevant. It's fact.
Once again, DIG rides my coattails.
Your 8000th post was so wasted right there.
pitiful Internet loser watching post counts
i'd be more worried about massive asteroids hitting earth.
