wasn't ever an issue...b/c back when we were actually PMing back and forth, i wondered and half expected it to find it's way on the website. but once i saw it, i didn't bother to read...so never saw it was doctored. that had to be back over the summer b/c i was super-busy then.

I'm sure that there have been many people who have signed up a year ago, forgotten their passwords and, rather than going through the proper channels to retrieve their passwords, have created second accounts. That would account for the slight disparity in numbers. Going by forum activity has no merit, because .net is more than just a forum. I signed up a year or so ago and didn't start posting for a few months. Just because the forum isn't as active as others doesn't mean that the signups aren't legitimate. And besides, .net has no reason to falsify numbers, there are no advertisers to milk.
Foundry has tens of thousands of registered users, is it so difficult to believe that people would follow the link from .com, sign up to read the forums and then go back to their real lives?

To defend gooch he never accused CDIH of reading peoples PM's, I just mentioned it jokingly about Luna accusing us when it was some sort of joke with danked in the stoner forum gone wrong and she misunderstood.
My second post was in reply to gooch saying its not a big deal even if we could, I just wanted to say that it is a big deal to me personally.
