yeah all of this is true but, the dad just wants to make sure his son does not end up dead

even with good parenting, a 12 year old is going to jump at any chance to get pussy that he can, thats just how it is

Has "dad" simply asked his son what he's up to? Give the kid a chance to talk, before taking away that trust, eh?

Yeah dad asked.
Even though I asked as a favor, I do agree it isn't the right way to go.
The toughest part of being a parent is not knowing what is the right thing to do.
If you ask your kid, and they say nothing is up, do you just leave it alone? what if there is something you can do to prevent big trouble? If you do interfere, do you risk losing whatever trust there can be?

As I said, I trust my daughter, and let her have a decent amount of freedom, but I know full well that many parents have no clue about what their kids are up to. I'd be willing to bet that most of us here did/do stuff that our parents have no clue about, and we might be walking a tightrope over danger without knowing it.

Caring is the first step; this guy definitely cares about his son. Why he doesn't have a good enough relationship to just talk about it, I don't know.

well, he is already 12, if Dad doesn't reach out now & try to "bond" over girls.... he might not get many more chances
