- Rookie - 11-09-2002 Unfortunately, Clemens will be a Yankee next year. Steinbrenner sees his 300th win as a money making adventure. The same goes for Godzilla. He'll be in pinstripes and making around $12mil/yr. Not because he's worth that as a player, who knows how he will perform in the majors, he has no major league experience. No, he'll be signed because Steinbrenner will make money on new Japanese Yankee fans, and advertising in Japan. Unfortunately, it looks like the extra money paid to these two clowns will leave no room for Pettitte who will most likely be traded. Cashman said, "Cutting payroll is the focus right now." Yeah right. - PollyannaFlower46 - 11-11-2002 You'd think we would've learned from Irabu. I REALLY don't want to see Pettitte go, or Clemens return, but when was being a Yankee fan ever about getting what you wanted? - Teenweek - 11-11-2002 According to the papers today, there is a good chance Clemens might go to Texas. Fuck him. I hope he does leave, you money hungry bitch. Keep Pettite - Galt - 11-11-2002 You've got to be kidding. He's a money hungry bitch? And Mussina and Giambi are playing for what, exactly? However, Clemens is a douche. He left Boston saying he was driven by either winning a championship or being closer to Texas. So he signed for the last place team in Canada. Everyone in Boston loathes him. Welcome to the club. Billy Beane makes me so wet. I have a feeling that Beane will clean house over the next five years. Nomar will probably retire with the Sox, but I can see Manny and Pedro getting traded for younger players who don't make a ton of money like he was doing in Oakland. Plus, he will finally replenish the Sox's putrid minor league system which has made it impossible to bring in any good players during the trade deadline other than the ones who are salary dumps. - HollywoodJewMoses - 11-11-2002 Quote:As for Franco, he still thinks he can pitch. why? he's soooo old now i think he'd make a great pitching coach though - Teenweek - 11-11-2002 Beane is staying in Oakland Sorry Galt. - Galt - 11-11-2002 Yeah, I just heard that from one of my friends. It happened a while ago. Why am I just seeing this link now, Teenweek? - Teenweek - 11-11-2002 Because I really don't care about Boston. - PeterDragon - 11-12-2002 Quote:Because I really don't care about Boston. How could you say you don't care? What about that Bucky Dent poster you have in your house? :burnfucker: - PollyannaFlower46 - 11-12-2002 Quote:Because I really don't care about Boston.I care about Boston...Boston losing  - PeterDragon - 11-12-2002 Well, today's story everywhere is that Drew Henson should go back to football. How long does George stick with him? Start of Free Agency period and it seems everyone thinks it will be a down market. Only active team seems to be Phillies, which should make DIG happy. - HollywoodJewMoses - 11-12-2002 mitch williams     - PollyannaFlower46 - 11-13-2002 Quote:How long does George stick with him?Cause he's cute :loveya: - Teenweek - 11-13-2002 Let him go QB for the Giants - PollyannaFlower46 - 11-13-2002 But I don't understand football and no one will teach me.
- Teenweek - 11-13-2002 Polly, this is hte best comparison between football and baseball Quote:by George Carlin - PollyannaFlower46 - 11-13-2002 That didn't help at all...now baseball seems like a pansy game.... :clueless: - Goatweed - 11-13-2002 Carlin rocks! :thumbs-up: - PollyannaFlower46 - 11-15-2002 :bouncer: :bouncer: Andy is staying :loveya: - krahzee - 11-15-2002 Quote:Andy is staying Not Necessarily. There is some concern about his elbow as well as his overall durability. With Clemens (he will resign), Hitchcock, Weaver, Mussina, and Wells, they would have enough starters without him. It all depends on if they resign Clemens. Right now all they did was pick up his option. He still might be traded for something they need, like a strong setup man who can close if Rivera gets hurt again. Remember Stanton & Mendoza are both free agents. If one walks they will need a replacement. It would be easier to trade Petite than almost all of the above because: a) he has a year left on his deal (the option) b) he is young enough that another team may feel it has a shot of signing him to a longer deal before that one expires. |
