Metal, that's because when you had your wisdom teeth out, they didn't have pain killers, they just made you bite down on bullets so you wouldn't yelp.

Actually, I got knocked out for the procedure. I was afraid that in repsonse to any pain....I'd smack the dentist as kind of a reflex. Not good to do to a person with a pair of pliers in your mouth, eh?
