i still don't understand how this stuff works

- Keyser Soze - 08-25-2003

im going by sportsline's projected scoring for this year. do you want to compare last years numbers instead?

- Galt - 08-25-2003

In my league's scoring, for Harrison to get 400 points this year he would have to get 2,500 yards receiving and 25 touchdowns

2,500 yards receiving is 250 points
25 touchdowns is 150 points

I haven't seen anyone project that.

You are right that we can't compare a 14 teamer and a 12 teamer.

And we obviously have different scoring.

In my league's scoring...I'd take Garner's consistent 1,800+ total yards and 10 TDs over Dillon's 1,600 total yards and 10 TDs.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Different leagues, different scoring, impossible for us to compare my team to yours. I drafted my team going by the scoring in my league, so far i'm projected as the 2nd best team. I would venture to guess your team would have to be top tier as well.

Their averages are close over the last 4 years.

Garner 1718 yds, 7.5 TD
Dillon 1558 yds, 8.25 TD

What separates them, IMO, is three things. 1) Dillon is 3 years younger, 2) Dillon is more consistent year to year (look at Garner's 2001 numbers), 3) Garner's knees are banged up (he's already questionable for the season opener).

Golden Rule: NEVER draft a Bengal

12 team league (actually 24 with two seperate drafts/divisions)

QB: Collins, T. Green, Brees
RB: A. Green, Zereoue, J. Stewart, Onterrio Smith
WR: Harrison, Toomer, Kevin Johnson, Travis Taylor, Wlaker, Ferguson
TE: McMichael, F. Jones
K: Vinatieri, Hollis
D: Skins, Titans

- Keyser Soze - 08-26-2003

Would you trade Holt for Edge?

- Galt - 08-26-2003

Holy Christ yes.

- Keyser Soze - 08-26-2003

What about Booker for Fred Taylor? I'm worried about Taylor's bad knees.

- Galt - 08-26-2003

yes and yes.

You have a ton of WR. You probably got Booker in like the 6th round. Taylor was drafted in the second.

If you're worried about Taylor, pick up Toefield.

- Keyser Soze - 08-26-2003

What about either Jamal Lewis or Candidate for Booker. Lewis is solid but Candidate is unproven.

- Galt - 08-26-2003

definately lewis probably even Canidate with your roster.

- fbd - 08-27-2003

i would not take cannidate or taylor for anybody of value...i dont trust either player(cannidate us too unproven, and i feel he will be a bust, and taylor is injury prone). lewis is a solid player though, and is my #2 in my league

I know it's only a 9 team league, but that's a really fucking good team.

- Keyser Soze - 08-27-2003

yeah but its a 9 team league.

- Galt - 08-27-2003

that isn't a very good team. 9 team league. Doesn't have a top 5 QB, TE, D, or kicker

Very good WR, but there are serious questions about all of the running backs who are all over 30 and have had declines and/or injuries.

- fbd - 08-27-2003

i have a better team in my 10 team league
qb-manning, brady
wr-moss, driver, chambers, mccardell, lelie, ferguson
rb-tomlinson, jamal lewis, onterio smith, william green
te-pollard, kleinasser
k-akers, vinateri
def-miami, nyg

how's the pats defense supposed to fare this year?

- fbd - 08-27-2003

decent...the 3-4 has an edge over the 4-3 usually just because teams are unfamiliar with it and don't have the right players to practice against it. the additions of colvin, washington, and harrison will help stop the run, and colvin is a great pass rusher, too. plus some rookie corners, it is worthy of starting in some weeks this year(i wouldnt start it in any divisional matches, though. the offenses are too good)
