When I turned 18 I all of a sudden had an obsession with the instant lottery tickets that you scratch off. I probably spent at least $5 a day on them. I never won anything significant though. $2 here, $5 there, but nothing good.
One day I just decided I was spending too much money on them and have only played them a couple of times since and only a couple bucks each time.
Went to a casino once. Took 40 bucks with me. Knew if I took more, I would lose it.
That 40 bucks lasted me about 4 hours before I did finally lose it. Never made any significant gains over 40 but I made it last for a while.
