Quote:1.5 Liter Misleader
Starting this summer in New York City and other major markets, Coca-Cola is introducing 1.5 liter plastic bottles for its soft drink products to replace 2 liter bottles. Since it probably wouldn't help boost sales to admit that they are charging the same price for a smaller container, retailers are being asked to display flashy signs that proclaim the new bottle is easier to handle and pour. Below is a letter to the New York Daily News (published on 5/19/04) from a shopper who wasn't fooled.

it's a good thing I dont drink soda.

- Galt - 01-12-2005

I get two litre bottles all the time. I never get "coke" though, I get diet coke or diet pepsi. Don't know if that's the problem.

Remember the 3 liter bottles that couldn't even fit in the refrigerator shelf?

- crx girl - 01-12-2005

all the coca cola products are now in 1.5 litres in the grocery stores. smaller places seem to still have the 2 litre bottles. but i drink diet mountain dew and diet sunkist. and i'm enjoying danked englishing up the word even if it is just a typo
