Korea for 50 years.... - Mad - 01-16-2003 Have we? Or has it been a Police Action for 50 years? - fbd - 01-16-2003 police status=wartime action. technically, we can shoot a north korean and the world wont bat an eye - GonzoStyle - 01-17-2003 fdbling is so fuckin smart, makes me proud to call him my son. - Isis - 01-17-2003 Of course they're all idiots, time to get your 'numbers' out again. :fuggin: - GonzoStyle - 01-17-2003 huh ![]() - Ken'sPen - 01-17-2003 Anyone listen to the Buzz on AM 770 6 PM, It has two relative light weights with Marlsberg and Bey, doing a liberal conservative teaming. I must say though, that while Bey never impressed me before, he does a good job of putting forth a rationale counterspin to Conservative rhetoric, he made some good counterpoints to the tax relief and Medical Malpractice plans lateley. - GonzoStyle - 01-17-2003 Is his solution having ted kennedy go up against any rival in a "who can eat a giant hamburger the fastest" contest like he had on his tv show years back. - Ken'sPen - 01-17-2003 NOOOO, his show sucked, but I think he was under orders to be Stern Light, that is why my opinion of him was low.... he actually comes across like he is informed, and has a brain to process the info. - GonzoStyle - 01-17-2003 Well he was sterns replacement on WWOR when stern got canned, so yeah. But Bey was more like the blueprint for Jerry Springer. I bet George Carlin has a solution for all this. - Ken'sPen - 01-17-2003 aaaanyway, yesterday's show concentrated on Bush's plan to put limits on pain and suffering on medical malpractice suits and capping the trial attorney's fees etc. All based on the escalation of insurance costs for doctors. The conservative was applauding the plan Bey countered by pointing out... 1. the legislation did not mandate ins. companies lower their rates to correlate the cost savings, 2. insurance companies are raising rates due to losses in the stock market, not necessarily soley due to law suits. 3. that the plan should be addressed as a state issue, not federal, all and all, I thought he made some good points. - Keyser Soze - 01-17-2003 I can't wait to hear George Carlin's spin on recent current events. I demand he does an HBO special soon. I thought it was hilarious he was going to call his last special "Everyones Going To Die" - GonzoStyle - 01-17-2003 I didn't read your points ken, especially after that snippy little intro. Keyser, I wish more people had some common sense to realize the pure gold that carlin has to offer. I guarantee if Dennis Miller was on HBO right now, he'd have had carlin in. - Isis - 01-17-2003 to gonzo- numbers mean joints. - GonzoStyle - 01-17-2003 Quote:to gonzo- numbers mean joints. what does weed have to do with this? - Mad - 01-17-2003 Quote:numbers mean joints. I'll take a lid of Columbian Gold too. Fucking stoner hippie chicks, gotta love'em. - OAS - 01-17-2003 Mad, a few corrections for your grid under the Iraq column. Nothing major but we might as well have the facts if we are going to compare. Threatens it's neighbors - Yes. Kuwait in 91, Iran in 88, Isreal constantly. Throught history, Iraq has attacked more of it's neighbors than any other middle eastern nation. Violated nuclear treaties. Yes. Iraq is the only middle eastern country that has had a nuclear weapons development program that was discovered by UN inspectors in 1998. Violated UN agreements - yes. That is why inspectors are there now. They also have violated northern and southern no fly zones daily since 1992. They refuse to acknowledge those agreements as being valid. US commerece bans in effect - Yes. The US does no commerece with Iraq including oil. Has troops to protect it's borders - Yes. Iraq has the largest military in the region. Considered Serious Threat by other nations - Yes. Their own Arab brothers don't trust them. Thrown out UN Inspectors - Yes, twice. The third time should be happening in about a week. Has sold weapons to nations hostile to the US - Nations no. Terrorist organizations, better than an 80% probability they have. OK, now that that is all clear, make an educated opinion. - Keyser Soze - 01-17-2003 by that logic, shouldn't other countries attack us. i'm just playing devils advocate here. - OAS - 01-17-2003 Keyser, in theory, we are the most hostile nation on the plannet. It can be debated forever whether or not that we have been right or wrong in doing what we do. We do everything we accuse our foes of being wrong about. It just depends on whether or not we buy into we do it for the liberty and freedom for all thingy. |
