- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

Ortiz, 75 runs, 139 hits, 31 HRs, 105 RBIs, 59 walks, .289 avg, .366 OBP

Delgado, 98 runs, 145 hits, 36 HRs, 117 RBIs, 93 walks, .284 avg, .403 OBP

Are these 3-year averages from 3 completely random seasons? It would probably be a lot more relevant to compare the PREVIOUS 3 seasons, which would look more like this:

Ortiz: 97 runs, 161 hits, 40 HR, 129 RBI, 78 BB, .297 BA, .382 OBP
Delgado: 91 runs, 151 hits, 36 HR, 120 RBI, 83 BB, .292 BA, .399 OBP

However, if you compared Delgado to Ortiz from 2000 to 2002, it would look like this:

Ortiz: 52 runs, 100 hits, 16 HR, 62 RBI, 47 BB, .265 BA, .342 OBP
Delgado: 107 runs, 165 hits, 38 HR, 116 RBI, 112 BB, .300 BA, .428 OBP

So on that front, you do make a great point. Delgado > Ortiz.
i'm not even saying delgado is better, im saying he's at least as good if not better than ortiz.

thanks for being the only other rational person in this thread. as always, bloody anus rules!

umm... what?

- Galt - 11-28-2005

I didn't check your numbers, I just assumed that they were the three previous seasons. What kind of retard just picks three random seasons to compare against?

You are the only person on the planet who would suggest that any team is better off with Delgado over Ortiz.

- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

why the hell would you just pick random seasons?!?!!?

- Galt - 11-28-2005

Brady Anderson is better than Barry Bonds

- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

the stats dont lie

- Keyser Soze - 11-28-2005

i didnt pick random seasons, i used the stats sportsline gave me for 3 year averages, it didnt say they were random. either way, bloody posted the actual stats and proved my point for me.

- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

in the stats he posted, ortiz is better than delgado in all but one category...

- diceisgod - 11-28-2005

Ortiz reminds me of cecil fielder or albert bell. Better get that fat ass in shape or he won't last.

- Galt - 11-28-2005

Not between 2000 and 2002 he wasn't, DRRRRRR!

- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

seriously, am i missing something? or can keyser just not read?

- Keyser Soze - 11-28-2005

wow, the reading comprehension between galt and awfulreceiverofthemonthkid is pathetic.

Ortiz: 97 runs, 161 hits, 40 HR, 129 RBI, 78 BB, .297 BA, .382 OBP
Delgado: 91 runs, 151 hits, 36 HR, 120 RBI, 83 BB, .292 BA, .399 OBP

Ortiz has 6 more runs, 10 more hits, 4 more homers, 9 more rbis, 5 less walks, .005 higher BA, .017 lower OBP

My point was Delgado is as good if not better. Those numbers reflect that.

- Galt - 11-28-2005

So the fact that Delgado is only 5-10% worse than Ortiz in most categories means that he's "as good"?

- Galt - 11-28-2005

The Mets only had 8% fewer losses than the Braves last year. So the stats clearly show that the Mets were just as good.....IF NOT BETTER LAST YEAR!

Go Mets!

- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

you dont get it, duh!

- HollywoodJewMoses - 11-28-2005

ORTIZ IS FAT!

- Galt - 11-28-2005

I got a 93 on test mom, that's a good as a 100....IF NOT BETTER!

as long as he's within 5-10%, the addition of his fielding value makes him better, because Ortiz doesn't field.
