Seriously though, Ron Artest should have never jumped over the scorers table into the stands. He shouldn't have laid down on the table like an asshole to begin with. He did it just to be an instigating little prick. Thats like eggin someone on. He is a paid professional athelete. You know what the deal is when you come into a hostile arena. He had every right to be pissed off. Some guy nails me in the head with a beer....yeah, its on. But he should have known better being who he is and what he does for a living. And then he says someone called him a nigger ??? Maybe yes....maybe no...but isnt that the first thing all balck people say the minute they get into any kind of skirmish ??

its not right to attack fans, but fuck whats right, if i was in the same position, i would have defended myself.
artest and the rest of them were acting like assholes, but fans think they can do whatever the fuck they want to players and they wont react back. they think the players wont do anything because of fear of lawsuits or NBA sanctions or they think heck if they do attack me ill sue and be rich.
i think the fans should have some accoutability, the blame should not reside all on the players.

I can understand Artest wanting to go after the guy, but fuck...going into the stands to attack a fan is a line that should never ever EVER be crossed. Ever. Let security deal with his ass, arrest him and charge him with assault. By going into the stands all you're really doing is letting your team down BIG TIME because you know that will result in a huge suspension no matter who started it, and the Pacers without Artest are a lot worse than the Pacers with Artest.
If I were David Stern, I'd probably suspend Artest, O'Neal, and Jackson for the rest of the year. That's not to say the fans weren't total asshats though, the ones involved should never be allowed to attend another game in their lives...but all athletes know fans are dickheads and should be better prepared to deal with shit like this. Hell, when Rasheed Wallace, Derrick Coleman, and Rick Mahorn are the most levelheaded people involved in a situation, you know shit is fucked up...
