at first I wasnt too enthused but the trailer looks pretty good, plus Spacey as Luthor sounds awesome.

I like the fact that this isnt a remake and it has referrences to the previous Donner movies.

I can't wait for this to come out.

- HedCold - 02-21-2006

its way to unrealistic.
i mean, the guy can fly!!! come on!!

- TheGMANN - 02-21-2006

My prediction for this movie : Galt won't like it.

- Goatweed - 02-21-2006

this is the short one, right? with him flying to earth from space at the end? it's a cool trailer but I hear the one that was shown at comicon last year was amazing but it has yet to hit the net.

I think this movie will be kickass, and the nods to the Donner films are a real nice touch (especially Singer's use of the cut Brando audio from the first film)

something is unavailable on the internet? are you fuckin kidding me!!!!

- Goatweed - 02-21-2006

Thanks for reminding me what a little comic book nerd I used to me.

(I'm so excited!)

- Goatweed - 05-03-2006

the 'Jason' character bugs me, but otherwise this looks to be fanfuckingtastic.

- Keyser Soze - 05-03-2006

ok, im excited

- TheGMANN - 05-03-2006

How good does Kevin Spacey look as Luthor ?

- GonzoStyle - 07-01-2006

Just got back from seeing this tonight, it was very good. It's a shame Bryan Singer didnt do Xmen 3, he really understands how to get the best possible out of comic book films.

Routh was an excellent superman, reminds you a lot of christopher reeve but without seeming like he's just a carbon copy. Very nostaligic, naturally effects wise its light years ahead of the 70's film but at the same time it does feel like it picked up after superman 2, which was the intent. Spacey was a good luthor but not as good as Hackman was. Biggest complaint was Bosworth as lois lane, she just seemed way too young. I won't give away spoilers but the film does have a lot of varied story lines and overall is an entertaining watch.

But what was just as exciting was the trailer for spider-man 3, looks fuckin phenominal. Naturally with the coming of venom, this movie seems much darker than the previous 2.

You can see the trailer here:

- Goatweed - 07-01-2006

not one mention of Zod, right? that bugs me too.

- GonzoStyle - 07-01-2006

Well from what I understand, this movie is not as much as start from scracth like batman "begins" was. The titles themselves distinguish it, superman "returns".

This movie is supposed to basically take place after superman 2, naturally ignoring the awful part 3 and even worse part 4.

this is not much of a spoiler but the movie begins with title cards which say that superman has left earth to search for krypton and that he was obviously already established as earths greatest hero. So its not like they are re-introducing the entire character.

So I doubt they would do anything as far as Zod, since this takes [lace after Zod was killed by superman.

Naturally there are open possibilities, such as it doesnt clearly state this takes place after superman 2, it ambigious in that matter. Also we never really know if zod was killed.

Plus none of the superman movies ever ended with anything but closure, so it woulda been off mark if synger ended it with some sort of surprise ending. This one ended like every other superman movie.

Though there is a major development which is even more interesting than zod, which will leave you guessing and wondering, I wont spoil it but its pretty fuckin obvious when you see the movie.

does it involve the kid? if so, I knew it before I read the script & all the papers blew it already - plus it was pretty freakin' obvious, considering the timeline.

Zod should've gotten a mention, that's all - he was a badass!

- Charles Manson - 07-02-2006

I hate my life and I hate myself. Watching this movie won't change that.
