Borat - GonzoStyle - 11-06-2006

if the borat movie doesnt win the oscar for best picture, there is no justice.

- Gooch - 11-06-2006

- GonzoStyle - 11-06-2006

- Gooch - 11-06-2006

not that great: referring to Oscar caliber.

(to this point)

(excluding any ex post facto edits he may make)

Borat deserves best picture, director, actor, even the thalberg award

Borat is the greatest thing since the fleshlight.

- virgingrrl - 11-06-2006

"why you call the cops?...cause the retard is loose?"

- Galt - 11-06-2006

There were some great moments, granted. But the 5 minute bits on the show didn't really extend well to 90 minutes on the big screen.

Plus, unlike the show, there were many moments in the movie that appeared blatantly staged or had suspicious editing, which took away some for me.

The other thing that was weird, was that I never heard about *SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS* Pamela Anderson getting wrapped in a potato sack at a gift signing, but I could have sworn I heard about something where Borat walked in from the ocean at Pam Anderson's house and got arrested for it. Did I imagine that?

so here's the thing.

Had he stormed the beach AFTER he put her in the wedding sack, then it would have been in the news story. Obviously either the AP or whoever, somebody, would have talked to Pam's people to get the story, or the bodyguards or something. And they would have said "yeah, he also did this a couple weeks ago at a book signing".

Had he stormed the beach BEFORE he put her in the wedding sack, then she obviously would have recognized him, which makes the entire scene a fraud.

Either way, at least one of the two events wouldn't have been a surprise, because he would have said that he was a comedian working on a show. Or else he'd be in jail or beaten to death.

WHHHAAAAAAT?

- HedCold - 11-07-2006

i just assume alot of the things that drove the "plot" of the movie - going to cali to meet pam anderson - was set up. the things like the cocharoaches, the bear in the ice cream truck with the kids (which i think was pretty obviously fake), and probably even putting the magazine at the yard sale.
