This guy, 46 years old, decides to take up smoking for 31 days, to see what it's all about.

I have been smoking for almost 10 years, and I basically quit for the New Year, I've had I believe 2 since, but, everything this guy discovers, it hits right into me. Specifically, the concept that smoking is sort of a club. When I was in school for architecture, the most memorable times, most cherished, is the smoke break, because we had so many great conversations, so many smart students and even teachers smoked, and I struck up so many friendships over smoking, it's the icebreaker into so many thoughts that people have about the world. And, it's almost a blessing in disguise for smokers when they passed laws forcing smokers outside or into special smoking areas, you end up bonding with total strangers over this silly horrible fun addiction. Yes, it will kill you, yes, they are cancer sticks, and all these surgeon general warning's are jokes thrown about as we all kill ourselves with cigarettes, but, god damn, a smoker will always tell you how much fun it is to smoke.

Smoking in the boys room was always a ball in grade & high school, at recess, or in whatever dark secluded area you could find at school. Smoking was more fun when I wasn't supposed to & before anyone gave a fuck if I did.

Do you smoke?

On and off I like the Marlboro menthol lights but I really truly love skoal the best especially the pouches they got...less messy. Cherry Skoal is the absolute best but no friggin pouches...NOWHERE...I've never seen them anyway. The other flavors like wintergreen, berry, mint etc are pretty delicious too.

Of course...Of friggin' course... you can find all those OTHER friggin flavors and more packed in nicely wrapped & neat pouches at most convenience stores. But NO fucking cherry though...just the tins of sloppy straight cut.

Aggitation aside though, do yourself a favor one day: Buy a tin of cherry skoal, open it up, and take a little whiff....you're fall in love. It's like a spring day in the flower patch.

I was dipping skoal briefly, after my brother got out of the army and introduced me to it. It was a nice way to get my nicotine fix in while working at the amusement park, where I couldn't smoke in front of patrons. I started with peppermint, and then went to cherry. Cherry was pretty good, and jesus, what a rush, and the rush only got stronger as the inside of the lip got cut up even more. But, what sucks is having to keep a fucking cup around indoors, even worse, at a party or somewheres with mad beers, and you leave that spit can lying around and someone tries to drink it, not good. I just basically stayed with smoking as the primary, and would dip on occasion.

The BEST is coming home at like 3am after getting a good load on, plopping in front of the TV, getting a cup, taking a nice big pinch, feeling the initial burn & just melting into the sofa.

Don't fall asleep though. Not a fun scene in the morning.

Well I wouldn't recommend falling asleep on either dip or cigarettes. Cigarettes have gotten better tho, it was like 2005 or 2004 over my friends place, we were puffing and smoking Newports, and Newports were the first to extinguish themselves after not being pulled on, and that was so fucking convenient; you could light up a cigarette, put it down while you smoked a blunt for 15 minutes, and then go right back to the cigarette, light up and resume where you left off.

When I was 18 , I tried using the nicotine gum to keep me from smoking, that just provided the best of both worlds, I could get my rush and do it wherever the hell I wanted. Ever smoke a cigarette in a nursery? No, but you can most certainly chew Nicorette there!
