The Happening - diceisgod - 06-01-2008

Looks very very cool despite the fact that Marky Mark and the funky bunch is in it.

Fail.

Re: The Happening - Gooch - 06-25-2008

that director has one good movie and one not bad one (Signs)

the rest is swill.

Re: The Happening - Galt - 06-25-2008

Signs was retarded. M. Night also deserves blame for the idiotic script behind Signs since he wrote that too. Like the fact that the aliens have legs strong enough to leap on top of a 2 story house, but not enough to kick a wooden basement door down.

And like how water melts their skin, but apparently they didn't realize that water was the most abundant resource on our planet before they decided to come here, never got hurt from the dew on the crops, and didn't seem to have any problem with the water vapor and humidity in the atmosphere.

6th sense was good. unbreakable was good. The rest were all shit. He's the Phil Plantier of movies.

I'll take your word for it. The Happening preview looked promising. It's always promising to see people throwing themselves under tractors and plunging sharp objects into their throats. I take it that there was a problem making that work though but it's not really surprising.

Quote:Across the Northeastern United States, people are succumbing to a toxic airborne agent that makes them commit suicide, often gruesomely.

That right there just sounds completely awesome to me but these Hollywood people have no fucking sense. Bunch of wine and cheese party-having faggots.

Re: The Happening - GonzoStyle - 06-30-2008

I gave up and will never watch an M Night movie ever again after seeing 'The Village'.

Signs I liked cause it was a well acted movie, I think mainly it's the scene between Gibson and Phoenix on the couch, when he describes his lost faith, it's an amazing scene.

But yea the whole 'water kills them' aspect of it just makes me wanna bash his head into a wall.

Re: The Happening - HedCold - 06-30-2008

i saw Wanted this weekend. it was kind of wonky, but it was based off a comic book i guess. i don't know how old the comic book was or how serious it stuck to the story line, so its hard to say how much it really ripped off the matrix and minority report. those were the 2 obvious movies i thought of when watching it though.

the action scenes were pretty sweet though.

i'd give it a C+

Re: The Happening - GonzoStyle - 07-01-2008

I'll still wait till never to see it.

Re: The Happening - HedCold - 07-01-2008

look at you, mr i have better things to do now then see and buy every movie imaginable.

Re: The Happening - GonzoStyle - 07-01-2008

pish posh, I sat through "be kind, rewind" this weekend.

brilliant premise, poor execution but guaranteed it was probably oscar worthy in comparison to the happening.
