- Kid Afrika - 08-26-2002 This weekend, I actually left the house for a bit. I went and hung out with some friends and even had some friends over to hang out. You know what? I like just chillin' by myself better. I didn't get shit done. My apartment is a mess. And the clothes I have on are the bottom of the dresser drawer because I didn't do my laundry. So I ask, am I really anti-social because I don't go out more often? Or, am I just so self-absorbed that I'd rather do my own thing and not be bothered with the interests of others? - Sean Cold - 08-26-2002 I do enjoy doing my own thing for the most part. I like when people are used to coming over, that way I don't have to "entertain" and just go about my buisness. - Hey Ladi - 08-26-2002 Quote:Or, am I just so self-absorbed that I'd rather do my own thing and not be bothered with the interests of others? This one :thumbs-up: I realized my version of going out, is usually to go to someone else's house & stay there. It's expensive to go "out" out. - Sean Cold - 08-26-2002 Quote:"out" out I really hate woman-esse. Repeating a word for a guy makes him a stuttering Asshole, a woman doing it adds emphasis I guess. - Ken'sPen - 08-26-2002 I never believe a woman till she says "no" the second time. Edited By Ken'sPen on Aug. 26 2002 at 10:36 - Hey Ladi - 08-26-2002 Quote:I never believe a woman till she says "no" the second time.Well, you'll strech out her shoes when you try them on - Sean Cold - 08-26-2002 Ok, back on track a little, heaven forbid. I am not really into the bar scene anymore. If I want to hang with my friends and drink till i am stupid, I rather do it in the comforts of my own home. I fall asleep on the train and I refuse to drink and drive so I pretty much try to avoid bars at all costs. Kid, hating people in general is not truly anti social when they hate you back. - Metalfan - 08-26-2002 At least your social life doesn't revolve around birthday parties your kids have been invited too. :disappointed: - Hey Ladi - 08-26-2002 "Anti-social" as a label seems to imply some sort of disorder. Like those people who have anxiety over crowds or talking to other people. Or, maybe, if you have such distain for people, that you have a hard time not punching a saleperson in the face if they ask you if you need any help. - Maynard - 08-26-2002 I am the same way k1d. I'd usually rather be home then out at a bar or some shit. Although I do have a few friends whose home is just as comfortable as my own, so I like going there as well. - Arthur Dent - 08-26-2002 Getting my friends together in one place isn't easy. So, when we do get together it's a big deal and I always enjoy it. Can't picture not wanting to hang out or go out somewhere. - Ken'sPen - 08-26-2002 Yeah my college friends are fairly scattered at this point, they were really the ones who I don't mind making a total ass out of my self with..... so get togethers with them are getting a little more rare, and a little more special. - Kid Afrika - 08-26-2002 on an average weekend, I spend friday night on the computer just goofing off. then on saturday, I clean, do laundry, get groceries, etc. sundays, I usually go to lunch with a friend and then try to catch up on any "homework" from the office in the afternoon. This allows me plenty of down time so that I can return to work rejuvinated and ready for another week. This past weeked, I had hardly any down time and now I am whooped and my "chores" haven't been done. I like to hang out with my friends, I just don't find myself with the desire to do it as often as I used to. Going to a friend's house is cool, but I'd rather hang at my house. (Which is the way some of my friends feel as well, they'd rather be at their own house.) Maybe I'll just continue being a hermit... - Keyser Soze - 08-26-2002 i prefer going out. my weekend feels wasted when i spend it the way k1d describes it, as responsible and mature as it seems. i'm just ready to cash in my chips just yet. the only way i'm staying home is if there are people coming over to hang. spending the weekend alone doesnt seem like fun to me. i have enough personal time to myself during the work week to do things alone that i like to do that i don't want to spend my weekends doing that. - Kid Afrika - 08-26-2002 Maybe it's related more to age. I know when I was younger, I used to go out all of the time. I would come home from work and get on the phone to find out where everyone was going to hang that night. Since about 3 or 4 years ago, I've stopped doing that. Even to the don't call people very often any more. Shit, I even ignore the ringing phone sometimes. I'm only 30, so maybe I've hit this stride a bit early. But, it seems that many of my friends my age are doing the same thing. - Hey Ladi - 08-26-2002 Quote:But, it seems that many of my friends my age are doing the same thing. That might have a lot to do with it. If no one wants to go, after awhile you have to find something else. - Maynard - 08-26-2002 If I find the right thing, I'll go out. Shit, I'd go to a concert every night of the week if I could swing it. - Kid Afrika - 08-26-2002 Nah, some of my friends go out all of the time. I just don't bother calling them to find out where they are going. And, they don't bother calling me because they know I'm going to say no 99.9% of the time. - virgingrrl - 08-26-2002 Quote:my weekend feels wasted when i spend it the way k1d describes it, as responsible and mature as it seems. exactly. as much as i love to stay home, i like to go out more. i feel more productive if im out and about doing something...anything. i hate looking back at weekeneds, or days off and feel as if i have wasted them away doing nothing. i hate sitting on my ass. - Kid Afrika - 08-26-2002 Quote:feel as if i have wasted them away doing nothing.I can understand this, but I usually spend my weekends doing productive things on the computer, at home. Of course, I'm a computer geek, so that's fun to me. I enjoy having the time to learn something new, or download more free shit. I never just sit on my ass doing nothing all weekend. Lately, I've been learning new software and I've started practicing my guitar again since I got the Guitar Port that lets me connect the guitar to the computer. So, I still do recreational activities, I just don't have to spend a shitload of money, or get dressed up, or deal with the assholes that frequent most of the bars and clubs in NJ. |
