Even though I have to see Two Towers this weekend, I definitely am going to see this movie, probably over the Christmas weekend. I cannot believe that they have 2 epic, 3 hour ,Best Picture, Box office kings opening on the same weekend. I heard this movie is extremely violent and Daniel Day Lewis steals the movie.

I'd like to see it, but will probably end up waiting for the DVD

- LyricalGomez - 12-17-2002

I will probablly see it, eventhough I don't know why. I look at the ads and yes it looks kindof cool, but it also looks like it will be some action, a huge, drawn-out, boring explanation about the character that drags on through the entire movie before the final fight at the end.

That sounds like both movies.

actually gangs is violent throughout. i found the violence to be unrelenting and unnecessary. it was easily the most brutal movie i have ever seen. i am sorry that i sat through it.

A lot of Violence in a Scorsese movie?

Noooooooooooo, fo' real son?

- Arpikarhu - 12-17-2002

makes casino look like a disney film. completely unecessarry. does nothing for the narrative. really hard to watch.

- GonzoStyle - 12-17-2002

You can't really say it was unecessary violence, it might just be a harsh reality you can't fathom you spoiled little princess.

- Arpikarhu - 12-17-2002

it was unecessary violence. gratuitous to the point that i think scorcese jerks off to faces of death videos. it was so over the top as to almost be absurd if it hadnt been so disturbing.

- GonzoStyle - 12-17-2002

We're talking about the mid 1800's, society was different back then. I could shoot you for cheating at poker and go home and rape my slaves. They weren't exactly civilized back then, I am just saying that while the violence may seem uneeded it's the grim reality of the times, culture and ways of that society.

The westies would chop off peoples heads then bring it to a local bar and put it on a table and drink by it all night, it may seem unecessary to put in a movie if you did one about them but it's the grim reality.

- Arpikarhu - 12-17-2002

i know the time period. i actually read gangs of new york. i am telling you, the movie is needlessly violent. i think scorcese is a genius but i think he lost it on this one.

- PollyannaFlower46 - 12-17-2002

I want to see it, but I'm afraid its going to drag a bit. I think I'll wait till the weekend is over to check it out, because I don't like being in overly crowded movie theaters.

- GonzoStyle - 12-17-2002

- Arpikarhu - 12-17-2002

- GonzoStyle - 12-17-2002

The poll is up my friend, so forget the face cutting how about some blood letting and a blowjob?

- Arpikarhu - 12-17-2002

- GonzoStyle - 12-17-2002

Hey what's fair is fair he is not here to defend himself and as his general I must defend my soldier.

I'll swallow.

- Arpikarhu - 12-17-2002

its not fair though. he couldnt articulate his defense in as nearly a humorous and endearing way as you are doing for him.
