for some reason when i try to install a cd the autorun feature will not start. then when i try to start setup from explorer, same thing. then i try to do it from the run command, same thing again.

Well what version of windows is it? I think enabling autorun is different for different versions of Windows.

And remember Google is your friend.

i am using XP. its not only autorun. if i go through explorer and click on the setup.exe file, no go.

WinXP autorun help. Try that see if it helps. If it doesn't then obviously something else is causing it.
