I've been pimping this program to a few friends of mine for the last few months, so I thought I should share it with you fine folks. Simply put, it is the best file sharing system EVER. In the 6 months I've had it, I have NEVER (repeat, NEVER) not found what I was looking for. You want movies? you got them. Need video games and HOT HOT HOT WAREZ* Action? It's all right here. Sure, it's a little hard to get used to at first, but once you learn how to use it, you'll never use another program again.

First, download the program. Then tell it what directories to share. Then connect to a hub from the hub list and you are good to go. Most of the hubs require you to share a certain amount of files, and have a minimum amount of slots open (slots are the amount of uploads you can tell DC to share. If you have low bandwidth, you can make it share only 1-2 slots. If you can go higher, you can open more slots). Then connect and leech away. With the ability to resume and overwrite files, plus cancel uploads that are draining your bandwidth, it is obviously the superior file sharing program. So use this wisely people. Alternatively, you can use this thread to ask questions about the program once you have it.

Direct Connect: for all your child porn and moviez needs.

OK, by posting that, you are trying to make it look like you're not condoning the illegal use of said program, yet the program itself is fr sharing illegal warez. LMAO

You would think that, but thats not really the case. On morpheus, you usually have to search for each song on a album one at a time if you wish to burn a copy. On direct connect, since most people share their MP3 directory to meet the requirements, they usually have the entire album shared. So if you look for one particular "Clutch" song, you'll end up with the entire album. And since it's from the same guy, it's always the same quality (so you wont notice low quality drops on your CD's).

So basically it works the same as AIM direct connect. Interesting.

Sure, if you could search between 8 terabytes of info whenever you did a Aim direct connect.

I d/l'ed. Will try it out later.

I heard about this before, and downloaded it beaming with excitement.

But, alas, I'm a retarded.

My roommate networked my house with DSL so we are all using the same DSL through an actual network (not just his computer, but an actual external hub and router)

I don't know if that's what's making it impossible for me to connect to any public hubs, or what. I'm clueless about specific IP addresses, hubs, blah blah blah, or how to set up the software to work through the router/firewall he's got going up there.

You either a) have to put direct connect into passive mode in the settings or b) change your network settings to force certain ports to come thru. I think you should open ports 410-420.

And DC is good but still newsgroups cannot be surpassed for the warez factor. I don't know I'm just old skool.
