- The Jays - 03-14-2004 We are in a time where our freedoms are being taken away from us. Our speech is becoming limited, as people on the radio have there's taken away. This has now become the norm of the world. Politicians, in fear, have silenced critics and won elections unopposed. Socialists have replaced the government in Spain. Our speech in America is being limited to positive praise for Bush. This is not conservatism, nor liberalism. This is the begining of totalitarianism. Our president has chosen to protect us by behaving indiscrimantly to other countries; to play on our fears instead of telling the truth. Our wars are now programmed strategy for attempts at protecting ourselves. We are becoming about as good as the USSR; feeding off of other countries in order to support our own. The USSR was the parasite of socialism; the US is becoming the parasite of democracy. Whether you are right or left of center is moot at this point; because our country is being run by people who have a totally wacked view of the world in general; as are most of the world's leaders. We must maintain our ability to debate issues and news, and whether we want to talk about it or not, we must force ourselves to offer opinion on issues. We must not sit on the sidelines when so many others in the world would die in order to say what they want to say. We must debate; whether we are egregiously un-informed or we are outstandingly accurate in our answers. This is how we keep the rights inherent to man, and the right that our country was founded to protect. This is how we stay true to the idea of our nation, and our culture. - diceisgod - 03-15-2004 Free Charles Manson. - Mad - 03-15-2004 Lock 'n Load. - Keyser Soze - 03-15-2004 i thought you were a bush supporter? - The Jays - 03-15-2004 I'm a conservative. - Mad - 03-15-2004 I'm a Libertarian. So fuck Bush and Kerry too. For me to support any politician they must uphold their Oath of Office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Anything less then that is an act of treason in my book. - crack hitler - 03-15-2004 i agree with the majority of what you just said except for this part Quote:Our speech in America is being limited to positive praise for Bush.i haven't seen much if anything positive about the pres. presented on tv. so far, i know that bush; lied to america, played on its fears and betrayed it. i know that he was awol during nam, and i know that bush knew long before 9/11 happened that it was going to happen. why do i know all this, becuase it's all that the news has been reporting for the past 4 months. problem is, its all a bunch of bullshit and lies, but you won't hear that part of it reported - The Sleeper - 03-15-2004 Quote:problem is, its all a bunch of bullshit and lies, but you won't hear that part of it reportedhow are you so sure? The thing that bothers me is the heavy influence the christian coalition and all those moralists have on the right wing. They basically want to turn American into a theocracy. For that reason alone I want Bush out of office. - diceisgod - 03-15-2004 There is no freedom to maintain. Unless you're rich, you are a coporate slave. Freedom is an ideal not reality. This country is probably as close to that ideal as any other nation. In other countries they put a gun to your head and tell you "do this" or I'll kill you. They cut to the chase. Here it's "do this" (work) or you can't afford to eat and survive. Democracy is dictatorship with a bunch of bells and whistles. This is not a bad thing, don't get me wrong. People in general are imbeciles. Until people can look within themselves to maintain order in society instead of relying on governemental agencies there will be no freedom. - Keyser Soze - 03-15-2004 Quote:lied to america, played on its fears and betrayed it. thats almost word for word from Gore's recent diatribe. - Arpikarhu - 03-15-2004 i am feeling betrayed and fearful! |
