Anyone pick this book up and get a chance to read it ? I heard about it in commercials on the radio. I just dont get why they did it. Was there really a need to write a book about the "lost years" in the Corleon family and Michaels rise to power ?

b/c there is money to be made.

its one of those situations where the family that owns the rights lets the book company cash in.

That or Puzo knows Tupac.

I picked it up for my dad for Christmas. Im just skimming through it now. It seems to be a good read.

i hate when authors give rights to other authors to write books...and then put their name along with it..like they wrote it. Case and point: Clive Cussler.

wasn't the last Bourne Identity book written by someone else altogether? I know the original writer is dead, but still.

yes...Ludlum is published under his name, but done by agents, the pub company and the son...which means probably ghostwritten too. it's pathetic.

I haven't had the chance to read it yet but from the reviews that I have read, I haven't read a bad one yet. I personally like the idea of filling in the gaps between the end of godfather 1 and the begining of godfather 2, i've always wondered what the in betweens were. Not just with Michael but everyone else, fredo, tom, connie, etc. It's never really explained in part 2 what the in betweens were, its hinted here and there.

I'm looking forward to reading it, the only thing I may have a problem with is how now that Sinatra is dead they finally were able to not just hint but basically blantanly say that fontaine was Sinatra. They even go into the whole rat pack stuff, the kennedy associations, I dunno about that yet.
