Some surprises, I guess Michael Moore's refusal to push farenheit 9/11 as a documentary and instead want it in the best picture category kinda didnt work out, no michael moore speech this year I guess.

Jamie Foxx not only gets the best actor nod but a supporting actor nomination for... collateral? where the fuck did that come from.

For all his praise Paul Giamatti gets snubbed for an acting nomination, yet darth vader kid got one... but ofcourse it was a tough choice between paul and jamie foxx for collateral!!!!

Passion of the christ got nothing except for a music score oscar.

Maybe this will finally be Scorsese's year.

Where the fuck did Million Dollar Baby come from and has anyone even seen a preview let alone the film?

Will Hillary Swank win a second oscar for playing a boy again?

I'm hoping Morgan Freeman finally gets a win, he more than deserves some recognition finally.

If Clint Eastwood wins back to back directing oscars and his 3rd overall, scorsese should just have him write and direct a movie for him.

My Picks: Once again, not always who I think should win but who I think the oscars will pick.

if it wins, will he rise from the dead to accept his Oscar?

- GonzoStyle - 01-25-2005

I think this is the year he finally comes back.

- Goatweed - 01-25-2005

I can't wait for the comeback tour!

- HollywoodJewMoses - 01-25-2005

My bad I misread the name, its not him.

- Keyser Soze - 01-25-2005

jamie foxx was not oscar worthy in collateral. in fact, the whole movie pretty much sucked.

- GonzoStyle - 01-25-2005

Thats what fuckin got to me, there seems to be a whole movement in the academy to make up for all the years black people were snubbed.

- Galt - 01-25-2005

Yeah, Collateral was pretty bad. I only saw two of the movies nominated in that category, but the guy from Closer was really good. Absolutely best performance in the movie.

Anything that makes Michael Moore sad, makes me happy.

And I said it before, F9/11 was a bad movie. Columbine, I didn't agree with, and was logically foolish, but at least he had an opinion and tried to support his argument with consistent arguments in a linear path to try and convince you he was right. F9/11 was all over the place. He never took an official position, and never had any specific arguments.

- The Sleeper - 01-25-2005

I enjoyed collateral

- The Sleeper - 01-25-2005

but yea, he shouldn't have been nominated twice. My black co-worker said he would be and i thought he was crazy and was just saying that cause he's black.

- Galt - 01-25-2005

He gets nominated for Collateral but not Willie fucking Beamon?

- The Sleeper - 01-25-2005

I keep the ladies...screamin

- Keyser Soze - 01-25-2005

collateral was completely awful. i didnt see ray, but its a standard oscar movie. bio pic, huge figure, who to top it off just died. ive seen scenes and foxx seems to take on ray charles completely. one thing you can say is in living color has produced more oscar nominations in 3 short seasons than SNL has in 20+

- Galt - 01-25-2005

that's because black people are more talented than white people at everything that doesn't include thinking.

- GonzoStyle - 01-25-2005

I haven't seen ray but the overall feeling I get is that it's not as much as him giving a great performance as an actor as much as it is him doing a really good impression of ray charles for 2 hours.

- HedCold - 01-25-2005

i don't think i saw any of the movies listed there

- GonzoStyle - 01-25-2005

I've seen aviator and sideways as far as the best picture category.

- Galt - 01-25-2005

I saw Closer, Eternal Spotless Mind thing, Collateral, Passion, Incredibles, and Tupac: Resurection
