Disc error

My Norton Antivirus keeps telling me I have a disc error (directory error). It seems to happen everytime I turn AIM on.
What does this mean? What do I have to do to fix this? :clueless:

If you go to nortons and look in their knowledge base ,I'm sure you'll find the answer.

I did a quick search with "disc errors while using Aim" and got back alot of results.
