Online cheating - How bad has it gotten

For those of you that play online games how bad do you feel the cheating has gotten.

I stopped playing cs completely 1.5 years ago because of all the cheating. I'm an avid Day of Defeat player and though there is some cheating it is not as rampant as in counterstrike.

What do you when there's so much cheating? Do you just leave or ignore?

i dont see the point of cheating online.its one thing to cheat in single play, or when you're with a freind, because in single you get storylines and shit, and with people you know you can hold your win over them, but online, against people you dont know, its pointless.hey look, i can kill you but you cant kill me.theres no challenge anymore, and you get nothing for it

Cheating online is for 12 year olds who can't hack it. Most of the servers that I play various games on don't tolerate cheaters. Much like AM, I haven't played CS in about a year because of it, but I hear it's gotten much better. I've been too pre-occupied with JK2/SoF2/RTCW online to play CS though.

Cheating in single-player mode is cool if it saves you some time to beat the game, but online cheating is pointless and should be rewarded with a Panzerfaust shoved up said cheater's ass :burnfucker:

I played cs again a week ago because some friends were bugging me to play and the cheating is just as bad as ever. Apparently 1.4 stopped cheating for a little bit but not for long. However Quake-3 based games(sof2, rtcw, mohaa, jk2) seem to have less cheating.

my floor ran a Tac Ops server from school last semester, and we made sure to have TOST2.0 which got rid of most of the cheaters. the occasional cheater that snuck through was IP banned from the server. people who cheat ruin games.
