Montreal or Toronto? - And what is there to do in either city?
#1
So I'm due a vacation. I haven't been away since I went to Amsterdam, however long ago that was, and the daily grind is quite litterally destroying me. Next weekend, I'm headed to see my friends in Vermont for our annual Lost Weekend barbecue and I figured I might as well take that following week off and continue straight on into Canada, but I don't really know if it's worth it. After all, it is Canada.

Has anyone ever been to either? Somebody told me Toronto is full of assholes and all I've heard of Montreal is that it has lots of strip clubs, but that seems like an incredible waste of money. Basically, I want to know what there is to do up there and if it's worth going or should I just save my vacation time until I have enough money to fly somewhere overseas.

Montreal is awesome. it's like going to a foreign country. they are supposedly lax on weed smoking and I went into a sweet drug paraphernelia store when I was there and the guy showed me all these different ways I can shoot up coke while clubbing. Also, there's a mammoth casino that you can spend all day in and never get bored. There's a planeterium and museums and stuff too. definitely one of my favorite cities. I've only been to Toronto once and it was a long time ago so I don't have much info about it.

Where did you stay while you were there? I'm looking up hotels, but I'm more likely to find cheaper rates by just going to any hotel when I get there.

I heard Toronto sucks, that and it produced TH so i'd say the safe bet is Montreal.

Have fun!

Now you can tell some lies about the good times that you've had
but I've kissed your Mother twice and now I'm working on your Dad.

I honestly don't remember the name of the hotel. It was cheap though and there are plenty of cheap nice places to stay. Bars and clubs are really cheap too. I went to one place that had $2 Labatts which is like $1.

Toronto is fun. Montreal i hear is better.

Although the idea of Canadian beer isn't too encouraging for either city, there's supposed to be a film festival in Montreal that week. That might be interesting.

montreal is by far the better choice. catherine street is a blast, the beer is cheap and plentiful , and the underground network is too cool for words.
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.
