I saw the dates a lot of those quotes were from and it was September of 2001. I think most American people were backing the president no matter what around that time. The unthinkable happened on American soil during that month.. innocent lives were lost. We all put our trust in GW. I wasn't pro-Bush before 9/11 but right afterwards, I thought I saw him in another light.
Of course, like anything else, as times passes.. truths come out. The way I see it, GW used a tragedy like 9/11 for a reason to go to war.

that was my point. The American electorate is stupid and they are easily manipulated sheep.

I used to also wanna be a ghostbuster when I grew up, wanna quote that?
I didnt vote for Bush nor did I think he would make a good president and up until 9/11 that was pretty much the case. Then something awful happened to this country and Bush while he was slow to react, seemed like a man who would take this adversity and possibly become a true leader. His speech was one of the greatest I had ever heard and I think many people would have agreed and did agree at the time.
Naturally has history has now shown us, he took that tragic event and not only dropped the ball but has created a bigger mess than there was before, so in retrospect my opinion of him was wrong but that is just monday morning quarterbacking at this point.

I tried my best in the past to stand by Bush, hoping there would be some progress made in the country, but after Katrina, and the failure to help our own people, I turned. Then the war just kept going and going. I was willing to support the president, but didn't vote for him either time, Gore, then Badnarik.

i too voted for badnarik, my libertarian brother!
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.
