Which TV cop is smarter? - Robert Goren or Gil Grissom?
#1
Of these two cops, Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) or CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's Gil Grissom (William Peterson), who would you consider to be smarter and more capable of solving a crime?

They both are extremely smart on their shows, they both have vast knowledge on just about any and every subject they encounter, and they both could solve all their cases alone without any help. In my opinion the other cast members are basically just window dressing to these two who pull answers out of their asses that no one else would figure out in a million years.

So, who's it gonna be, Goren or Grissom?

Ah na na, Vic Mackey don't count. I'll admit he is a kick ass cop, but as proven by the fact he was fucked up until Shane and Lem saved his ass in regards to the Armadillo thing I wouldn't consider Vic among the super smart cops.

Mac is more capable of solving a crime than both of them

And he doesn't let a pesky thing like rules and regulations get in his way

D'Onofrio is more street, while Grissom is more book-smart, its a tough call. Since I watch both shows, I'll go with Grissom - he likes bugs.

I hold the dubious honor of being the only person never modded who has also never been to a party who in the past had a shared account with a vegetable reference that has had consensual sex with a woman who wasn't from the board that also knows what >) means and remembers the end of the golden age.
