ftp server

I am attempting to set up an ftp server on my desktop. I used cesarftp to set it up and it seems to work fine. however no one else can access it. what am I doing wrong? Is there another program that would make this easier?

you have a router? if so, go into the settings and change yourself to the dmz host, or find out the ports (all of them) that are being used and forward them. i will not be going into detail about how to do these because i am lazy.
