This morning when my dog was ready to come back into the house. He had a squirrel in his mouth. I went out and pried his mouth open and the thing dropped to deck with a loud thud. It was stiff as a board and clearly dead when my dog found it. But this was the second dead squirrel in my yard in a week.
I am thinking someone is following the OAS advice and dropping poison in an attempt to get rid of rabbits or a groundhog or something.....
But I don't like my yard turning into pet cemetary.

Wow, must be the day for this. I just went to let my dogs in, and the puppy had a chipmunk in her mouth. Same situation, had to pry her mouth open to get it out. Unfortunately, it hadn't been dead for a week.
Tossed it over the fence into the vacant lot next door...where it landed with a little chipmunk thud.

See? I knew I should've gotten a picture of my puppy with the chipmunk.
