Uh, no, sorry. Matter and energy can't be destroyed. You take some antimatter and have it meet matter, they annihilate each other and release energy in the form of gamma rays and some heat. The energy of the gamma rays and heat is defined by Einstien's Theory of Special Relativity: E = m c^2

The mass of the matter and anti-matter that is gone is converted to an equivalent amount of energy (read: a whole lot)

Same thing happens in a nuclear reaction, like the sun. Two hydrogen nuclei smash into each other at high speed, they form a helium nucleus that is actually a little lighter than the mass of the two hydrogen atoms that made it up. That small difference is given off as energy, and there is an assload of it. Just go outside today if you don't believe me
