Actually a while back someone made a good analogy.

They said that while it may be wrong, viewing child porn shouldn't be a punishable offense. Making it should be but not viewing it.

I know it's wrong and very disgusting but think about it.

He wasn't making it and there is no proof now that he participated in pedophelia.

So his only crime is viewing kiddie porn.

The analogy that was made was, that just because you view pictures of a murder doesn't mean you are a murderer, it's just a picture. It's also wrong and horrible but it's only an image. People look at stuff all day.
