without the pressure of closing, benitez will thrive. he wont grip that breaking ball so tightly and will be able to throw it for strikes so hitters can no longer ignore it and sit on his non-moving fastball
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

benitez can't pitch when the game is tied

and if they hold out and wait for a team that'll take benitez but not pay for his contract they might be able to get better prospects
but the mets are cheap, so its not like they want that to happen

i like that leiter is considered a great met. an above average pitcher is great because the standards and expectations are so low. weaver would be thier ace.

the mets wouldnt take weaver if you paid them.

your pitching is so shaky that you've paid the mets for a reliever that one of your own pitchers, who himself is a nutcase, called "about as reliable as a schizophrenic on crack".
