I guess I'm being too literal in the definition of what "Most Valuable" means.
I forgot that "pretty" and "nice" and "Yankee" are prerequisites.

I agree that Thomas is as deserving but he wasnt as consistent all year. He went on a tear the last 6 weeks of the season and was a god. But he is without a doubt the main reason the A's are where they are.

If you actually think he's close to the best fielder in the AL, it's because a) you think offense should count to defensive awards b) you don't believe in any fielding statistic c) you are an imbecile.
He has the range of a very pretty, charismatic, lamppost.

Um, I don't think anyone this year believes Jeter deserved the Gold Glove, especially when Michael Young had fewer errors with more chances. But, hey, I'll revel anyway. Fix the system.

let me break it down for you, if you can put down your yankee fanboy glasses for a moment.
he's a below average fielder. the fact he won a golden glove just goes to show how ridiculously overrated he is, which was already confirmed in a Sports Illustrated survey of 470 major league players who voted him the most overrated player in baseball.

don't get me wrong, he's a nice player but the whole cult of derek jeter is pretty amusing to most people outside of the evil empire.

If he's so overrated, then why don't you tell the fucking coaches and managers to stop voting for him? Are they in the cult too? Does the "evil empire" extend to every fucking bench in baseball?

It boggles my mind why the coaches and managers voted for him, so yes, I would have to think that they've bought into the myth as well.
Do you honestly believe he was the best defensive shortstop in the AL this year?

at least he aint no jellyleg

I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.
