i do it infrequently, usually spurred on upon something that slips into my mind at some point during the day. i might be fantasizing about someone i know or about some particularly good sex i'd had with a woman recently. i'll store that fantasy away for later and use it to masturbate at some point in the day when I have the chance. its usually better when i have to wait longer to do it, the build up makes it worthwhile.
