you could go to the funeral directors etc for the information, but i don't think you should be so apprehensive about approaching the family. if you're familiar enough to know who her family is they would probably be appreciative that she touched someone's life enough that you would like to visit her grave. i say pay your respects to the family and they'll be happy to direct you. if not, the funeral home should be able to help you out.
