i was stunned. i've read him from articles to books. he's one of my favorite writers, and even despite his bizarre irreverent personality, i was shocked that he killed himself. his words nor writing has NEVER ever been despondent nor depressing. but we shall see what comes to light. When Cobain went, or even Hemmingway, there was an expectation from prose or what they said, or history. With Hunter, there really wasn't any unless he had some fatal painful illness or sank into a later depression. he was a very private man in life, and who knows the demons he had at 67 years old. He will be missed. He blurred the lines between journalism and fiction, but always for the truth of what he was looking for...and was one of the very greats.
There are four kinds of people in this world: cretins, fools, morons, and lunatics.
