accepting credit/debit cards is more about speeding up payment, which reduces cycle time for orders and saves money, and reducing cash on-hand at the stores. Stores are the ones pushing credit cards, not consumers requesting it.
And just because you pay by credit card doesn't mean you have to pay interest. I've never paid a cent of interest on any credit card, and have had one for 10 years.
some credit card companies are even testing contactless credit cards, so you just swipe the card like the things for Mobil gas and the EZ Pay on tolls.
