A 21-year-old pizza deliveryman was shot in the leg last night in Travis by two armed thieves who police say were caught minutes after the crime.

The man -- whose identity was not released by authorities -- was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, where he was listed in stable condition.

At 9:03 p.m., the victim was making a delivery to a bogus address on Melvin Avenue, where the street dead-ends into the Fresh Kills landfill, a police spokesman said.

"As he is looking for the address, two male suspects come out of the woods and demand his cash," the spokesman said, adding that each suspect had a gun.

This is why more pizzerias should be using credit cards. Get away from this whole carrying pieces of colored paper and metal in your pockets, what are we, Romans?
