unfortunately, a war would be the best thing that could happen to the entire middle east. the plo keeps blaming sharon, and cry that they're under "occupation". it has nothing to do with sharon, it has nothing to do with the "occupation". they could have settled these things 2 years ago, and chose not to. the rest of the arab world, would like nothing more than for israel to diasppear, sadam and syria both out right refused the arab league summit/saudi peace plan to normalize relations with israel. if there would be a war, i am possitive that iraq and iran would be fully involved in this war, and i think only then, who ever ends up alive, keeps the land. but i think people thought the same way in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973. how many more wars can there be for people to recognize the jews right to exist with a homeland? a homeland with or without a palestinian state next door.

Many of those wars you mentioned were started by Israel. And Iran is hesitant to go to war because their population is most decidely more liberal than the clerics. A war would not be good for them as it has the possibility of eroding their power base.
