Arod is the 3rd most valuable player on the Yankees. 4th if you count pitchers (which I'd imagine you don't since DH's don't count)

What I don't understand is how the Yankees automatically won the division. I thought that if the Sox won two of three they would have a playoff in NY to find out who won the division. I don't see how Cleveland losing affects that.

There you go interpreting the discussion to suit yourself, I never said I didn't count DH's and I actually said that either one could win and would be deserving. Keep on reading what you want to see though to make up silly arguments. Then again you don't bother reading most anything and just make assumptions.

I was more speaking to Jays, Mr. Whinyman. Just saying that if I had a vote in MVP. It would probably be

1. Giambi
2. Ortiz
3. Sheffield

if cleveland had won there was the potential for a 3 way tie for 2 spots in the playoffs. but they lost, so now, if boston wins tomorrow, cleveland's out, whether they win or lose. if the sox lose tomorrow and cleveland wins they'll play each other on monday. if the sox win tomorrow they tie the yanks in the division but the yankees have the winning record over boston 10-8 or something i think, so they get the title.

Take it to the other thread. This thread is for discussion about teams who win the AL East.

Yeah. If Boston wins tomorrow, it doesn't matter, because the New York Yankees were better than them this season.
