it gives the yankees something they havent had since rickey henderson, a legitimate lead off hitter. it sets up their lineup perfectly.
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

he's not worth 13 mil a year for his numbers - BUT he moves Jeter back to #2 in the lineup and he reduced the Sox's chances at winning next year which probably "justifies" the $13 mil.

And as Keyser said, He's a HUGE upgrade over Bubba and there really wasn't anyone else left. Boras was ridiculous to think anyone would sign him up for 7 years (and if Damon really believed that he's just as stupid).

he never gets hurt?!?! he was hurt the entire season!

the only reason he was playing was because it was his contract year and it would have decreased his value.

i know he is a leadoff hitter and all, but when a homerun production drops 50 % over one season, and stolen bases nearly the same amount from two seasons ago, how is there any reason to believe that hes not going to start to decline in other aspects of his game?

i agree, he's due for a major breakdown. however he's still a calculated risk for the yanks who really had no other better options at CF.
